Your Tax File Number — Get It Done Early
A Tax File Number, or TFN, is a personal number issued by the Australian Tax Office that you need before you can legally work in Australia. Without a TFN your employer is required to withhold a much higher tax rate from your pay and you will not be able to get that money back easily.
